Argonne and Fermilab Tour

There will be a tour of Argonne National Laboratory and Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory on Saturday, October 15, 2016. There is a charge of $85/person, which includes bus transportation and lunch. Please register for the tour on the general conference registration form.

IMPORTANT:  All persons participating in the Argonne portion of the tour, regardless of nationality, must also register on the following link by August 26*:, using as your sponsor. Pre-approval from the US Department of Energy is required prior to a visitor coming onsite.

*For information received after the August 26 deadline, approval to enter Argonne is not guaranteed.  Please contact if you register for the tour after that date.

NOTE:  Closed toed shoes are required.

Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory

  • 9:00-10:00 - Wilson Hall (overview), Linac Gallery, MCR
  • 10:00-11:00 - Fermilab Accelerator Science Test (FAST)* Facility and CryoModule Test Facility (CMTF)
  • 11:00-12:00 - Superconducting magnets, SRF, and test facilities
  • 12:00-1:00 - Box lunches at the Illinois Accelerator Research Center (IARC) dining room.

Argonne National Laboratory

  • Advanced Photon Source
  • Argonne Wakefield Accelerator Facility (High Energy Physics Division)
  • Argonne Tandem Linac Accelerator System (Physics Division)
